Covid-19 Update 19-10-2020
Results of COVID-19 tests done on 19 October 2020 confirm 97 new cases. The cumulative COVID-19 cases are now 10,788. Please see attached poster for details and more information. The breakdown of the 97 new cases are: 96 contacts and alerts: Kiryandongo (32), Kampala district (25), Soroti district(19), Wakiso district(8), Mbale district (6), Tororo town (2), Lira district (1), Pallisa district (1), Jinja district (1) and Buikwe (1) 1 truck driver from Busia boarder point.
According to the Ministry of Health – Uganda, following a Presidential Directive of deducting all foreign truck drivers from Uganda’s case count, the confirmed COVID-19 cases now stands at 10,788. The total number of recoveries stands at 7,066 in Uganda. Uganda has registered 97 COVID-19 related deaths.
Remember to consistently and correctly wear cotton fabric masks when in public; with the increased number of community spread cases. Wash your hands regularly and thoroughly with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water. Also, continue to follow WHO guidelines on social distancing, keep at least 4 meters from the individual nearest to you.
