11 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed out of a total of 1,331 samples tested at UVRI on 23rd April 2020.

11 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed out of a total of 1,331 samples tested at the Uganda Virus Research Institute on 23rd April 2020.

The new cases include 6 Tanzanian truck drivers who arrived via Mutukula Border post and 5 Kenyan truck drivers; 3 arrived via Malaba and 2 arrived via Busia border points.

Of the 1,331 samples tested, 1,020 samples were from truck drivers while all 311 samples from the community and individuals in quarantine tested negative for COVID-19.

The total of Confirmed Cases of COVID-19 in Uganda is now 74 while the Total COVID-19 recoveries in Uganda is 46. Uganda has not registered any COVID-19 deaths.

As of 23rd April 2020, Kenya had reported 320 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 89 recoveries and 14 deaths.

Tanzania had 285 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 11 recoveries and 10 deaths.

Rwanda had 154 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 87 recoveries and No deaths.

Burundi had 11 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 4 recoveries and 1 death.
