All 555 samples tested for COVID-19 today at UVRI were NEGATIVE.

All 555 samples tested for COVID-19 on 11th April 2020 at Uganda Virus Research Institute were NEGATIVE.

According to the Minister of Health Dr Jane Ruth Aceng, 184 samples were from institutional quarantine while 371 samples were from the community.

Three patients who were among the confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been discharged from Entebbe Grade B hospital after completing successful treatment.

The total number of active confirmed cases for COVID-19 has now dropped from 53 to 50, according to a press release from the Ministry of Health.

All the 50 confirmed COVID-19 cases are in stable condition; 20 of them in Mulago National Specialised hospital, 28 cases at Entebbe Grade B hospital, 1 case in  Adjumani and 1 case in Hoima. Uganda has not registered any COVID-19 related death.

Another 4 cases in this hospital have tested negative twice at intervals of 24 hours after 14 days treatment and are also being prepared for discharge.

The cumulative total number of samples tested at Uganda Virus Research Institute stands at 4,856.

The Director General of Health Services Dr Henry Mwebesa says a total of 244 are under institutional quarantine while 588 contacts to the confirmed cases are under follow up.
