COVID-19 daily update 20-06-2020

Results from samples tested on 20 June 2020 confirm 7 new COVID-19 cases. Total confirmed cases are now 770. 2 truck drivers from Points of Entry: 1 from Elegu and 1 from Malaba. 5 are among contacts and alerts: 3 from Kyotera, 2 from Amuru. Total samples tested today were 2,935; 10 samples from health workers, 1,843 samples from Points of Entry tested and 1,082 samples from alerts and contacts. 12 foreign truck drivers tested positive for COVID-19 and were returned to their respective countries.According to the Ministry of Health – Uganda, following a Presidential Directive of deducting all foreign truck drivers from Uganda’s case count, the confirmed COVID-19 cases now stands at 770.The total number of recoveries stands at 578 in Uganda. Uganda has NOT registered any COVID-19 related death to date.

In the spirit of open governance & public accountability, the Ministry of Health - Uganda leadership today briefed Ugandans on the COVID - 19 funds and donations accountability of funds fund-raised through Government of Uganda, Individual, Corporate and Private sector conditions.
