Uganda Virus Research Institute(UVRI) hosted a team from the Science, Technology and Innovation – Office of the President (ST&I-OP) and a delegation of investors from Asia.
The visitors included Scientists working on vaccine development and a four-man delegation from Hayat-Biotech Ltd that have accepted to support Uganda build capacity and help set up a mini vaccine facility. The meeting was held on Monday 7th February, 2022 at UVRI from 10am till 1pm.
In the meeting, Prof. Kaleebu presented about the old institution (UVRI) and the different researches participated in, especially the vaccine related ones.
In attendance were the Principal Investigators(PIs) who are currently working on vaccine development; namely Dr. Serwanga Jennifer, Dr. Balinda Sheila and Assoc. Prof. Matovu Enock. The PIs made some brief presentations to the visiting team about what has been done so far towards vaccine development.
