On the 17th of May 2019, CDC officials visited UVRI and appreciated the efforts against combating public health threats. A delegation from the Center for Global Health (CGH) at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) visited Uganda Virus Research Institute and appreciated the ongoing work on disease surveillance, diagnosis, control and prevention.The UVRI deputy Director Dr Julius Lutwama briefed the delegation from the Division of Global Health Protection (DGHP) and Division of Global HIV and TB (DGHT) on the institute’s preparedness and response to Influenza viruses, arboviral diseases, zoonotic priority diseases and their vectors.
