All the 398 samples tested for COVID-19 at UVRI today have been confirmed Negative

All the 398 samples tested for COVID-19 at the Uganda Virus Research Institute on 4th April 2020 have been confirmed Negative. The number of confirmed cases for COVID-19 still stands at 48.

According to a press from the Ministry of Health, to-date a cumulative total of 2,629 samples have been tested for COVID-19. A total of 980 are under follow up in institutional quarantine. A total of 915 contacts to the confirmed cases are under follow up.

The Director General of Health Services Dr Henry G Mwebesa says all the 48 confirmed cases are still in stable condition at Mulago National Specialised hospital, Entebbe Grade B hospital, Adjumani and Hoima hospitals. 

One of the COVID-19 confirmed cases a pregnant woman today delivered a baby girl at Entebbe grade B hospital. Both mother and baby were reported to be in good health. A sample will be obtained from the baby for COVID 19 testing. So far  Uganda has not registered any C0VID-19 deaths.
