
All 338 samples tested for COVID-19 at Uganda Virus Research Institute on 9th April 2020 are Negative .
The Confirmed number of cases for COVID-19 in Uganda still stands at 53 and all confirmed cases are in stable condition.
According to the Ministry of Health press release, 20 of the confirmed cases in Mulago National Specialised hospital, 31 cases at Entebbe Grade B hospital, 1 case in Adjumani and 1 case in Hoima.
The Director General of Health Services Dr Henry Mwebesa says three cases have tested negative twice after treatment and are being considered for discarge by the clinicians.
Uganda has not registered any COVID-19 related death.
The Miistry of Health has appealed to the general population to remain calm, avoid stigmatising families of people taken into quarantine or in hospital for isolation.
The Ministry also cautions against harassment of travelers who recently returned from abroad, encouraging those who traveled to test for COVID-19
A cumulative total of 3862 samples have been tested for COVID-19 at UVRI. A total of 538 individuals are under institutional quarantine while 571 contacts to the confirmed cases are under follow up.
