
Two (2) new cases were confirmed for COVID-19 out of the 2,071 samples tested oday t the UVRI. Both cases were Kenyan male truck drivers; 55-year-old who arrived via Busia and 27-year-old who arrived via Malaba. Total number of confirmed cases of covid-19 stands at 83 in Uganda. Of the 2,071 samples tested, 492 samples from community tested negative for covid-19.
The International Health Regulations (IHR) requires that every case that is tested and confirmed for a particular disease should be registered as the host country’s case. Therefore, Uganda will capture all COVID-19 foreigners as her confirmed cases, bringing the total to 83 cases for Uganda. Total covid-19 recoveries in Uganda is 52.
Remember to wash your hands regularly and thoroughly with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water. Also, continue to follow WHO guidelines on social distancing, keep at least 4 meters from the individual nearest to you.
