Twenty-One (21) new COVID-19 cases confirmed from 1,593 samples of truck drivers. This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases in Uganda to 160. The new cases include: Ugandans, Kenyans, Tanzanians and South Sudanese who arrived via Mutukula, Busia and Elegu borders. All 303 community samples have tested negative for COVID-19. Total samples tested today was 1,896.
Thirteen (13) new COVID-19 cases confirmed from 1,741 samples of truck drivers bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases in Uganda to 139. The new cases are 7 Ugandans, 5 Kenyans and 1 Eritrean who arrived from Tanzania, South Sudan and Kenya via Mutukula, Elegu and Malaba. All 363 community samples tested negative for COVID-19. Total samples tested at UVRI were 2,104.
Four (4) new COVID-19 cases confirmed from 1,478 samples of truck drivers. This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases to 126 in Uganda. The new cases include: 2 Ugandans, 1 Kenyan who arrived via Elegu and 1 Tanzanian who arrived via Mutukula border. All 233 community samples tested negative for COVID-19. Total samples tested were 1,711.
One (1) new COVID-19 case confirmed from 2,296 samples of truck drivers. This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases to 122 in Uganda. The new case is a Ugandan truck driver who arrived from Juba via Elegu. All 558 community samples tested negative for COVID-19. Total samples tested today at UVRI are 2,854.
Five (5) new COVID-19 cases confirmed from 1,498 samples of truck drivers. This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases to 121 in Uganda. The new cases are: 2 Ugandan and 3 Kenyan truck drivers who arrived via Elegu and Malaba Points of Entry. All 341 community samples tested negative for COVID-19. Total samples tested today at UVRI was 1,839.
Two (2) new COVID-19 cases confirmed from 1,913 samples of truck drivers. The new cases are: 40-year-old Kenyan and 30-year-old Uganda truck drivers who arrived via Malaba and Mirama Hills point of entry respectively. Efforts to track them are underway. All 652 community samples have tested negative for COVID-19. Total COVID-19 confirmed cases are 116. Total samples tested today: 2,565.
Results of samples tested on 8 May, 2020 confirmed 13 new COVID-19 cases from 2,421 samples of truck drivers. Out of the 13 new cases,7 are Kenyans, 4 are Ugandans while 2 are Tanzanians. Tracking them has commenced and the public will be informed accordingly. All 740 community samples tested negative for COVID-19. Total COVID-19 confirmed cases in Uganda are 114.
To-date the 7th of May 2020, Uganda has 101 confirmed COVID-19 cases. Out of these, 41 truck drivers tested positive for COVID-19. Of these, 37 are foreign truck drivers while 4 are Ugandan truck drivers. 23 truck drivers have returned to their respective countries. There are 23 active cases of COVID-19.
