Results from samples tested on 20 June 2020 confirm 7 new COVID-19 cases. Total confirmed cases are now 770. 2 truck drivers from Points of Entry: 1 from Elegu and 1 from Malaba. 5 are among contacts and alerts: 3 from Kyotera, 2 from Amuru.
The MRC/UVRI and LSHTM Uganda Research Unit has received £2.7 million from the MRC/UKRI to support Uganda’s COVID-19 national response plan through diagnostic testing, sequencing, clinical support and community-based surveillance.
Results from samples tested on 08 June 2020 confirm 11 new COVID-19 cases. The total number of confirmed cases is now 657. All new confirmed cases are Ugandans. 5 cases are truck drivers from Malaba and Elegu, while the other 6 cases are among contacts and alerts from Amuru and Kyotera Districts. All samples of health workers tested negative for COVID-19.
Twenty-One (21) new cases confirmed yesterday from 1,071 samples from various Points of Entry. All cases are Ugandan nationals from Elegu, Mutukula and Malaba points. All 253 community samples are negative for COVID-19. The COVID-19 confirmed cases are now 248. Please see attached a press release for details.
Forty three (43) new COVID-19 cases confirmed from 1,838 samples of truck drivers. The total number of COVID-19 cases is now 203. Elegu: 15 Ugandans,9 Kenyans,4 Eritreans, Mutukula: 5, Tanzanians, 1 Burundian, Malaba: 5 Kenyans, 2 Ugandans, 1 Burundian 1 nationality unknown.
Twenty-One (21) new COVID-19 cases confirmed from 1,593 samples of truck drivers. This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases in Uganda to 160. The new cases include: Ugandans, Kenyans, Tanzanians and South Sudanese who arrived via Mutukula, Busia and Elegu borders. All 303 community samples have tested negative for COVID-19. Total samples tested today was 1,896.
Thirteen (13) new COVID-19 cases confirmed from 1,741 samples of truck drivers bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases in Uganda to 139. The new cases are 7 Ugandans, 5 Kenyans and 1 Eritrean who arrived from Tanzania, South Sudan and Kenya via Mutukula, Elegu and Malaba. All 363 community samples tested negative for COVID-19. Total samples tested at UVRI were 2,104.
Four (4) new COVID-19 cases confirmed from 1,478 samples of truck drivers. This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases to 126 in Uganda. The new cases include: 2 Ugandans, 1 Kenyan who arrived via Elegu and 1 Tanzanian who arrived via Mutukula border. All 233 community samples tested negative for COVID-19. Total samples tested were 1,711.
