One new case of COVID -19 was confirmed at the Uganda Virus Research Institute on the 17th April 2020.
The new case is a 34-year-old Tanzanian truck driver from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania who arrived at Mutukula border post on the 16th April 2020. He did not have any signs and symptoms consistent with COVID-19.
1,162 samples tested Negative for COVID-19 at the Uganda Virus Research Institute on 16th April 2020.
839 samples were from truck drivers at border points while 323 samples were from individuals under institutional quarantine and contacts to the confirmed cases.
All 1,032 samples tested for COVID-19 at Uganda Virus Research Institute on 15th April 2020 were Negative.
Out of the samples tested, 551 samples were from truck drivers at border points of entry while 481 samples were from individuals under institutional quarantine and contacts to confirmed cases in the country.

All 639 samples of COVID-19 tested at Uganda Virus Research Institute on 13th April 2020 are Negative. The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Uganda is 54.
231 individuals are under institutional quarantine, according to the Ministry of Health and 729 contacts to the confirmed cases are currently under follow up.
